Souvenirs – Rembrandt Chamber Musicians’ Season Finale

Show Information

This JUNE Rembrandt Chamber Musicians returns to the stage with a rousing season finale performance featuring world-renowned violinist Chee-Yun. Hailed by the New York Times as having “…high-gloss tone that pulls sensuously at the listener’s ear,” she joins us for one performance only to present her smashing virtuosity in Tchaikovsky’s “Souvenir de Florence.” Rembrandt’s program will also feature a clarinet quintet of Bernard Herrmann, a composer best known for his film music and long collaboration with movie director Alfred Hitchcock. But there’s more to Bernard Herrmann than Pyscho. Guest clarinetist Jonathan Gunn’s paralyzingly beautiful musician features on Herrmann’s Souvenirs de Voyage – a vivid tour through vivid sentimentality which contrasts dramatically with the iciness and drama of Herrmann’s film scores. The heart-racing tempos, stunning lyricim, and pure thrill promise to have you out of your seat before the end.
