The Restricted Section is a monthly comedy showcase hosted by Chicago’s premier unscripted fantasy team, Improvised Romantasy. Taking up residency at the historic Greenhouse Theater Center, this night brings together the best local comedy talent for an evening of wild, scandalous, and completely spontaneous entertainment.

How the Night Works: The Warm-Up: We kick off the night with two guest opening acts featuring a rotating lineup of Chicago’s funniest stand-ups, sketch groups, or guest improv teams. The Main Event: To close out the night, Improvised Romantasy takes the stage for a high-heat, trope-heavy headline set inspired by your audience prompts, real-life red flags, and secret BookTok cravings. No script. No safety net. Expect arrogant elven princes, brooding morally gray villains, and plenty of “there is only one bed in this tavern” drama.
