In the wake of a bombing performed by a group of activists the members wrestle with the consequences of their actions, morality, and the reality of liberty. Written early in Nottage’s career, the play helped establish her distinct voice in the New York theater scene before she went on to win major acclaim and two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama for later works like Ruined and Sweat.
