“Good things happen with a little remembering.” Melanie Ann Apel directs the world premiere of Esmé Raji Codell’s Hanukkah, Shmanukkah!, a delightful story for the whole family this holiday season. Join Ms. Eb and her students as they bring storytime to life! A holiday classic is transformed to tell the tale of our ancestors who came to America with beautiful traditions and rich history. Ms. Eb and her students travel from their classroom in the early 2000s to the days of the Maccabees and back. During their travels they see how much has changed since our ancestors’ arrival to America in the early part of the 20th century. Bringing the past to the present we share the history and traditions of the celebration of Hanukkah while learning the importance of remembering where we came from.
