Show Information
This staged reading of King Lear by William Shakespeare is produced by Essential Invisible, in partnership with CIRCA Pintig, adapted and directed by Noella Bonsol. This production centers a Pinoy lens in its storytelling while celebrating a team of Asian-American artists. King Lear is a tragic play about an aging king who decides to divide his kingdom among his daughters based on how much they profess their love for him. As relationships unravel and loyalties are tested, themes of power, family, pride, and justice come to the forefront. The story explores the consequences of misjudgment and the emotional toll of betrayal and aging. This reading explores a classic work through a culturally grounded and contemporary perspective in a collaborative, community-focused environment.
