Show Information
Mickey Lodovico is a sought-after artist in one of the largest cities in the country. His workshop is filled with commissions and the recognitions of the wealthy and powerful – truly he has been blessed, in the words of his life-long friend, Monsignor Auguste Humbolt … if only he believed it himself. In addition to the work and the well-intentioned ministrations of the monsignor, Mickey joyfully accepts the steamroller-like bearing of his young assistant, Thomas Cavallo. Thomas holds the palette on which Mickey can touch his past but would prefer to leave encased in stone. His commitment to Art and to Thomas, his fidelity to the Church and to the Monsignor, his love of himself for who he is, are kept in delicate balance. Mickey has succeeded in the juggling act for decades until they all meet in his studio and threaten to render him as a pile of rubble and marble dust. If only he could know that a broken rock reveals hidden beauty.
